Craig Hemmens' Vitae

Craig Hemmens holds a J.D. from North Carolina Central University School of Law and a Ph.D. in Criminal Justice from Sam Houston State University. He is an associate professor in the Department of Criminal Justice Administration, and also serves as the Academic Director of the Legal Assistant Program at BSU. Professor Hemmens has published three books and more than one hundred articles on a variety of criminal justice-related topics. His primary research interests are criminal law and procedure and corrections. He has been nominated for several teaching awards, and is currently serving as the Editor of the Journal of Criminal Justice Education.
