Department of
Criminal Justice

Undergraduate Programs in Criminal Justice

The department is dedicated to the creation of an intellectual environment favorable to the development of skills for critical analysis, problem solving, and participation in public affairs. Students are provided an educational setting conducive to the study and practice of important thinking skills for professional and intellectual development.

The department offers both associate and baccalaureate degrees at the undergraduate level. Students pursuing upper division work may choose an emphasis in Corrections /Counseling, Courts/Law, Law Enforcement, or Research. Students are required to take courses within each emphasis. An internship program enables students to participate in the activities of criminal justice agencies. The department also participates in the Canadian Studies Program and the Morelia, Mexico summer program.
